Product Overview

Our clear Convex Ceiling Panels are just that. Without pigment or surface texture they allow maximum light transmittance.

Convex Ceiling Tiles add a dynamic design element that brings a room to life. Made from our Feather-Light Series 0.013 in. thick vinyl plastic, they are unlike any ceiling panel you will ever see or feel. You may be surprised by their minimal weight, but their geometric design combined with the inherent strength of vinyl makes these panels rigid, durable, and easy to install and maintain.

The “lume” in Ceilume stands for ILLUMINATION, and with our Transluminous® Ceiling Tiles we give you three unique ways to let the light shine in, whether you want localized lighting effects or a fully illuminated ceiling. Our clear material is just that. Without pigment or surface texture it allows maximum light transmittance. It passes light like a window pane, but because of our manufacturing process it lacks window clarity, causing some cosmetic imperfections and witness lines to be visible. Place tiles directly beneath lighting fixtures in traditional interiors, or throughout the entirety of your installation for a fully-illuminated ceiling effect.

All of our Feather-Light Series tiles are Class A fire rated, 100% recyclable, completely waterproof, Greenguard Gold Certified for indoor air quality, and made in the USA. For the look of plaster or tin, with the flexibility, durability, and versatility of vinyl - look no further!

Are all of your ceiling tiles considered "drop out" and allowed you be installed below sprinkler heads? If not all, are the convex ceiling tiles allowed to be installed below sprinkler heads?

Asked by: Baker Studios
All of our Feather-Light ceiling tiles (including the Convex!) and 2 of our Signature tiles can be installed beneath a sprinkler system as a Drop-Out ceiling tile. You can view all of the Drop-Out ceiling tiles at this link: https://www.ceilume.com/products/drop/white/drop-out-ceiling-tiles/ Please keep in mind that the Convex tile has a very strong 3 dimensional profile and can only be installed as a full 2x2 or 2x4 tile. If you have partial tiles at the perimeter of your space, you'll need to use a "border tile" for those areas. You can view the Border Tile selections here: https://www.ceilume.com/products/drop/border/white/drop-out-ceiling-tiles/ Feel free to give Ceilume a call at 800-557-0654 to request a free full-sized sample to help you get started. We're here Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 4:30 pm PST.

How does it install

Asked by: Don
Ceilume's Convex ceiling panel can only be installed in a standard 1" or 15/16" suspended ceiling grid. Please keep in mind that the Convex has a very strong 3-dimensional shape that projects down 2" from the ceiling grid. Because its shape, the Convex can only be installed a full tile. Since most rooms don't lay out to a perfect 2x4 (or 2x2) grid, you'll need to select a border tile for those areas at the perimeter of the room where you'll need to cut the tiles down from their full size. You can view all of our border tiles here: https://www.ceilume.com/products/border/white-ceiling-tiles/ Give Ceilume a call at 800-557-0654 with any questions or to request a free full-sized sample.

Can I get a sample of this, it looks right but I need to compare it with everything else

Asked by: Jaymekey
We'd be happy to provide a free full-sized sample for your review. Give Ceilume a call at 800-557-0654; we're here Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 4:30 pm PST. Because the Convex tile has a very strong 3-dimensional profile, it can only be installed as a full tile. Since most ceilings don't lay out to a perfect 2x4 (or 2x2) grid, you'll most likely have some areas at the perimeter of the room where you'll need to cut the tiles down from their full size. The Southland tile would be the best tile for use as a border to the Convex tile. You can view all of our 2x4 border tiles here: https://www.ceilume.com/products/drop/border/2x4/feather-light/white-ceiling-tiles/

Hi I have had my eyes on these for a while to replace our basement light panels but the cost has held me back, we need 32 Are you guys doing a Black Friday sale? What is the difference between frosted and translucent? How do samples work?  Thanks

Asked by: Grant
Translucent tiles allow about 32% of the light to pass through while the Frosted tiles allow about 77% of the light pass through. If a light source is about 1' from the top of the tile, the Translucent tiles will create a warm, diffuse glow but you can't see any bright spot created by the light source while the Frosted tiles will provide more light and you'll be able to see a bright spot where the light is located. (see photo for reference) Give us a call at 800-557-0654 to discuss your installation and request up to 3 free full-sized samples.

Are these tiles metal? And how much would it be for 15 cases?

Asked by: Singh
All Ceilume ceiling tiles are made of a thin rigid vinyl. The Faux Metallic and Faux Wood finishes are just a thin laminate. At Ceilume we sell tiles by the tile, not the case, so you can order in any quantity. Just enter the desired number of tiles into the quantity section on the website and the system will apply any applicable quantity discounts.

Is this grey/siliver

Asked by: Andy
Ceilume's Convex ceiling panels are available in White, Sand, Black, Latte, Merlot, Stone, Translucent, Frosted, and Clear finishes. The White image on the product page does look gray on some monitors.
